I did something else recently. In order to provide research database training, I created a video using Camtasia video software (http://www.techsmith.com/camtasia.asp) and Screencast.com to create an 11 minute video. Camtasia costs $300 and a full subscription to Screencast (200 GB monthly transfer) costs $100. Camtasia allows you to create and edit video including recording your desktop with narration, which is what I did for this project.

Loren, just wanted to comment on your video — great job! We really like Camtasia here at TSLAC too. And it’s great to know about Screencast.com — those seem like pretty affordable hosting rates. I will have to keep that in mind in case we ever need it. Thanks, Naomi
